Spirituality in Anhils Ghost - Literature Essay Samples
Throughout Ondaatjeââ¬â¢s novel Anils ghost, there are a multitude of allusions to an underlying theme of the struggle between the spiritual world and the physical. Ondaatje does a fantastic job in weaving these two world views into the singular perspective of the reader; it seems as if the goal of the text isnt to show the differences in spirituality and the physical world, but rather to effectively display how physical events are perpetuated by spiritual concepts. This said, in spite of the seemingly effortless mesh of the two themes, its clear that within the confines of the text spirituality plays a deep role in the way the story plays out, and performs the task of giving an explanation as to why certain events happen. Anandaââ¬â¢s character development and the ritual painting he performs as his trade portray a massive amount of links between spiritual and physical lives. Ritual painting is a concept first introduced within the novel within the chapter titled The Grove of Aesthetics. From its introduction itââ¬â¢s clear that the event in question is a highly regarded act. Throughout the novel, and at its terminus, ritual painting serves a deep role in the development of the story. The process of first explained to us by Palipana, when he recommends Sarath and Anil search for a ritual painter. Palipana describes the ritual painting process as follows: ââ¬Å"Coomaraswamy points out that before eyes are painted there is just a lump of metal or stone. But after this act, ââ¬Å"it is thenceforward a God.â⬠(91). The surrounding passages serve a similar purpose, the main idea being that without its eyes, the statue has no life. Anandaââ¬â¢s job, as a professional artificer, is to give inanimate objects the gift of life, an event which is implicated a few times within the novel. We see a significant event with spiritual implications take place when Ananda completes the clay moulding around Sailors skull; instead of a portrait of sailor, the skull ends up becoming a portrait of Sarissa, Anandas dead wife. In reference to Sarath, Ondaatje writes:ââ¬Å"He would already know as she did that no one would recognize the face. It was not a reconstruction of Sailorââ¬â¢s face they were looking at (179). This scene itself is excellently built up to as well; Prior to the skulls unveiling we see Ananda fondling the statue in front of Anil. While Anil writes this off (as shes able to sympathize with Anandas apparent desire to see the statue as human) it can be seen by glancing back upon this excerpt that Ananda has long seen a part of Sarissa within Sailor. We see more spiritual events surrounding Sarissa within an italicized section in the chapter. The flashback we see of his wife also plays to the theme of a connected spiritual context, as can be seen in the following excerpt: She does not even think of releasing them from this public gesture. Cannot touch anything because everything feels alive, wounded and raw but alive. She begins running forward, past their eyes, her own shut dark until she is past them. Up the hill towards the school. She keeps running forward, and then she sees moreâ⬠. (166) Of course the detached heads themselves arent alive. Sarissa is instead stating that the heads seem to hold some living essence. This idea itself is an allusion to the presence of the spiritual essence of the students within their severed heads. Sarissa closes her eyes as she passes by them because she feels their presence. Of course this is a very human instinct for her to have; exposure to the severed heads of ones acquaintances would likely drive anyone to attempt to run away in fear. Here however lies a fallacy, as Sarissa didnt run away. Instead, she continues to run towards the school because of her fear of being watched by the perpetrators of the crime. The heads have been mounted in an attempt to instill fear. This fear isnt just spiritual in a restricted senseââ¬â it has a spiritual meaning to all humans, in that this same fear is instilled in all of us. A final event within the text that ties into this theme occurs at the very end of the novel, when Ananda is performing the NÃâtra Mangala by painting the statues eyes. The statue of Buddha that hes been tasked with recreating however seems to follow in the footsteps of sailors skull in that the image its being modeled after isnt the Buddha, but instead Sarath. An excerpt states that He was on the platform most of the time now, wearing one of the Indian cotton shirts Sarath had given him some years back. His sarong was heavy and dark from the rain. (282) While he performs this ritual, Anand wears under the costume one of the shirts given to him by Sarath. This seems like a terrible choice on Anandaââ¬â¢s part. First, heââ¬â¢s in a very warm region. Second, itââ¬â¢s said that itââ¬â¢s raining at the time of the ritual, which means that wearing a cotton garment is an awful idea. Palipanaââ¬â¢s description of an artificer at this point was very glamourous, and Ananda se ems to starkly contrast against this. It seems then that Ananda is wearing Sarathââ¬â¢s shirt because it serves as a memento; holding some greater value to Ananda after Sarathââ¬â¢s death, and perhaps assisting him in painting Sarathââ¬â¢s eyes onto the Buddha statue. Spirituality plays a key role in the development and setting that take place within Anilââ¬â¢s Ghost. The entire plot of the story is driven secondarily by these existential ideas, with them directly influencing charactersââ¬â¢ actions and ideas. From the start of the novel to its final pages, these events seem to provide a place for input from a second type of world view, one not only influenced not by hard facts or knowledge, but also by ghosts.

The Nineteen Five Theses On The Power And Efficacy Of...
When Martin Luther wrote the ââ¬Å"Ninety-Five Theses on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgencesâ⬠in 1517, he was making a bold and unprecedented move: challenging the Catholic Church. As a German Catholic priest himself, Luther was not afraid to condemn the Catholic Church, even publicly, which is how he displayed the original copy of the theses. Lutherââ¬â¢s issue with the church wasnââ¬â¢t personal but was instead based on what he saw as violation of the religious morals and teachings of God. For example, he highly disapproved the churchââ¬â¢s several claims of salvation and forgiveness on earth. The ninety-five theses acted as Lutherââ¬â¢s tool of protest against the church and also acted as enlightenment to the masses. Publication of the theses is also often noted as the spark that initiated the Protestant Reformation after centuries of religious tension buildup. Lutherââ¬â¢s overall disapproval was ââ¬Å"against the corruptionâ⬠and dishonesty of the c hurch (Bishop, p.1). In the theses, Luther outlined what and how he believed the Catholic Church was doing wrong and how it should be corrected. He argues against the churchââ¬â¢s abuse of power and the way it took advantage of its members. What the ninety-five theses did was outline two major points: the selling and buying of indulgences as well as the issue of purgatory regarding to God, the Catholic Church and the Pope. The forefront issue in the ninety-five theses deals with indulgences. Luther delves deeply into how and why indulgences were sold by theShow MoreRelatedOne Significant Change That Has Occurred in the World Between 1900 and 2005. Martin The Warrior Essay Example For Students
Martin The Warrior Essay MartinIn a time of danger A time of hunger The mouse was a stranger The mouse was strong He showed the cats With help from some bats How to behave He showed his pain, anger, and strife The creatures were thankful As a matter of fact He was honored for not only a life But for many years to comeThe novel, Martin the Warrior by Brian Jacques, is a book about a young mouse warrior named Martin, son of Luke the Warrior, a mouse that fought sea rats, One day, after the murder of most of his tribe (including his wife), Luke set sail to have his revenge against Vilu Daskar, the stoat pirate responsible for the massacre. Before he left, he gave Martin his sword, which had been handed down through their family since Lukes own grandsire lived. This book is about how Martin travels through a land full of moles, squirrels, and other woodland creatures which talk and walk upright. Martin goes around meeting creatures from all different lands and asks them to join his army to fight a tyrant who is keeping slaves in his fort, Marshank. The plot of this book is how Martin and his friends fight the tyrant, Badrang, to free slaves. The main idea of the book is how and why Martin and his army fight the tyrant. When Martin was captured as a slave for Badrang the Tyrant, he was furious. Not only did the evil rat steal his fathers sword, he beat and mistreated all of the slaves horribly! Devising a plan, Martin frees himself and two of his friends from the Marshank, the slave camp: Brome the mouse and Felldoh the squirrel. Bromes sister, Laterose (Rose for short) and her companion Grumm the mole all set out with Martin and his friends to go get help from their hometown of Noonvale. Unfortunately, due to the seas conditions, Martin, Rose, and Grumm get separated from Brome and Felldoh. The two strings of the story carry on and tie together at the end: Martins group eventually reaches Noonvale, where he returns to Badrang to get his revenge, and Brome and Felldoh join the Rambling Rose hip Players, a bunch of happy-go-lucky animals that made the hardships less hard, and also get to the slave camp. The ending is tragic, and whenever I read it I get depressed. Martin, in the end, retrieves his sword from Badrang, and succeeds in killing him, but Rose, who he has become very much attached to, tries to help Martin in killing Badrang, but only ends up getting killed by him herself. Also, Felldoh died toward the end he had fought Badrang one-on-one but the lousy cheater called his army to help him. Felldoh, being a great warrior, killed many of Badrangs men but did not kill Badrang himself. Brome still lived, but found he did not like war, so he became a healer. Some of the characters that Martin encountered along his travels changed from being his enemies to being his allies. The creatures changed when Martin was off to go fight the tyrant and when he and his friends asked them to which to join fight the tyrant so he could not capture any more creatures for his slaves and makes his horde any more powerful. Sometimes it did not seem believable because of how they turned from enemies to allies instantly and why they joined without even knowing who Badrang the tyrant was. I felt like I had a similar relationship when Martin was leading his army into battle. I have this feeling when Iââ¬â¢m a captain of my basketball team and I have the partial responsibility of leading them to victory or defeat. I thought that the best scene in the book was when Martinââ¬â¢s army attacked the tyrantââ¬â¢s fort for the second time. It reminds me about whenever I lead or am a part of an activity of some sort, like basketball or tennis. .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664 , .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664 .postImageUrl , .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664 , .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664:hover , .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664:visited , .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664:active { border:0!important; } .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664:active , .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664 .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u112c1eefe6aa2032bfb42e5c27408664:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: History of the Computer Industry in America EssayI think that the title, Martin the Warrior, is fitting because itââ¬â¢s simple and it tells what the book is about. The story made me feel good in the end, when Martinââ¬â¢s army defeated the tyrant. I liked this because I love the feeling of victory.

Oedipus
ââ¬Å"Oedipus is punished not for any fault in himself, but for his ignorance. Not knowing his family history, unable to recognize his parents on sight, he is blameless; and in slaying his father and marrying his mother, he behaves as any sensible person might behave in the same circumstances.â⬠I agree with the above interpretation.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Oedipus specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More This is because were it not been for his ignorance about his family history, Oedipus would have known his family. As such, he is blameless on account of his ignorance. I would therefore not be so quick as to blame Oedipus because if I were in his shoes, I would probably have acted in the same way. Although the death of his father signifies his own downfall, nonetheless, one could argue that Oedipus acted in self-defense, in that he was attacked unexpectedly while travelling alone and out of fear of losing his life, he kills them all but one. These were violent times and as such, a man was expected to defend himself in case of an attack, and more so while travelling alone in far off lands. Any sensible man would have done the same, under the circumstances. The punishment that Oedipus receives largely stems from his ignorance. Oedipus should have been wiser enough to heed the warnings of Teiresias. We can therefore say that Oedipus somehow pursued his own death. For example, he had been warned a couple of times to desist from attacking people who were ready to surrender but he could hear none of it, for his desire to be a man. Although Oedipus was a brave, wise man who sought the truth relentlessly, of sound judgement and had the capacity to ââ¬Å"see beyond the obviousâ⬠(Regal 19), nonetheless, all these assets proved worthless as he fell victim to a heinous fate-he killed his own father without his knowledge and later on married his mother. Despite the many dimensions taken by the play, it has a central moral dilemma in which we are called to question whether we are in a position to shrug off the responsibility bestowed upon us when short-sightedness and avoidable ignorance forces us to do great harm. For someone who little knowledge about the play, there is the possibility of presuming that Oedipus had improper lust. However, he did not kill his father out of lust for his mother. He was brought up by foster parents, the queen and king of Corinth. He never knew that he was an adopted child, or that his true biological parents were Jocasat and Laius.Advertising Looking for essay on literature languages? Let's see if we can help you! All this time, however, Oedipus was innocent. One might argue that he portrayed unacceptable motives but on the basis of the Judeo-Christian moral standards, he was morally innocent because he was not aware that the men on the road were the king (his biological father) and his aides. To him, they were nothing more than a band of rude, ordinary men, and he had to defend himself. Even if we assume that Oedipusââ¬â¢ actions were morally innocent, can we also assume that he was also blameless for our practical purposes? One might argue that Oedipus could and should have done better. This is because he had received warning on several occasions. It had been prophesied that Oedipus would kill his own father and that he would later on marry his mother. Oedipus chose to ignore the prophecy. Instead, he fled to Corinth as a way of escaping the predicted misdeeds. Even while escaping, Corinth thought that the King and queen of Corinth were his birth parents. In a way, he was uprooting his life from the culture he was used to, to that of Corinth. On his way to Corinth, he encountered with and killed his ow n father, against his knowledge. If Oedipus had taken the prophecy seriously, he could also have wished to question his own view of reality and this might have prompted him to further interpret the unfolding events. He even ignored the prophecy of Teiresias, the esteemed blind prophet whose revelation had indicated that Oedipus would indeed kill Laius, his real father, and then marry his mother. Although he acted violently by killing his own father, among the Greeks, the most admired heroes were expected to put on a brave face even when facing death in the eye. According to the description provided regarding the killing, neither party could be accused of being strictly guilty of the brawl that ensured, in which Oedipus murdered his father. Oedipus is not a damned, stupid, cursed, or afflicted man, and neither did he have a complex. He was nothing more than an ordinary man blessed with an extraordinary passion to know the truth. He was also caught in an inherently deceptive and intri cate situation in which an exceptional ability and good intentions to see through riddles were not enough to overcome an increase in misdeeds. Free Essays on Religion In The Scarlet Letter
The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne is about symbolism of the ages in which we lived. People and objects are symbolic of events and thoughts. Throughout the story Hawthorne uses Pearl, Dimmesdale, and Hester to signify Puritanism and Roman Catholic philosophies. Hester, through the eyes of the Puritans, is a massive sinner. She has gone against the Puritan ways and committed adultery. For this harsh sin, she must wear a symbol of shame for the rest of her life. The symbol of a red letter ââ¬Å"Aâ⬠. The Roman Catholic philosophy of Hawthorne puts down the Puritan beliefs. She is a beautiful, young woman who has sinned but eventually is forgiven. Hawthorne portrays Hester as "divine maternity" and she can do no wrong. Not only Hester, but the physical scarlet letter (a Puritan sign of disownment) is shown through the author's tone as a piece of beauty. Pearl is Hesterââ¬â¢s daughter. She is portrayed as a pure puritan, but only as a child of a sinner who should be treated as such. Ugly, evil, and ashamed of what her mother has brought upon her. One should notice that Hawthorne carefully, and sometimes not so subtly, places Pearl above the rest. She wears nice clothing, is intelligent, and is well rounded. More often than not, she shows her cynical wit and free thought. A trait of the Romans. One of Pearl's favorite pastimes is playing with flowers and trees. Remember that anything affiliated with the forest was evil to Puritans. To Hawthorne, however, the forest was a natural and peaceful setting. "And she was gentler here [the forest] than in the grassy-margined streets of the settlement, or in her mother's cottage. The flowers appeared to know it". (194) Pearl fit in with nature. Also, Pearl is always happy, which is a negative to the Puritans. Pearl is a virtual shouting match between the Puritans views and the Romantic ways. A Practical Guide to Teaching, Training and Learning Assignment
A Practical Guide to Teaching, Training and Learning - Assignment Example Short-term memory is also one of the reasons. Some of them were unable to remember previous days lessons or unable to grasp features of learned lessons quickly. Due to the above-mentioned reasons teachers should be responsible towards the students. They should employ different teaching methods so that students could easily grasp the subject. Student oriented and student concentric activities should be encouraged. Assessing student's abilities and disabilities is the major factor and teachers should strive to identify these issues. By identifying their strengths and weaknesses one can easily work on these issues. Self-confidence plays an important role in everyone's lives. It is the deciding factor that decides a winner and a loser. Like in any other department catering department also needs to work on the above-mentioned reasons so that most of the students were benefited. The classes were conducted as per the schedule. Eight students a day attend the classes on different days of a week. Each batch of the students has to attend classes 4 days a week. Classes had been classified into theory and practical. During these 4 days 3 hours of practical lessons and 1 hour of theory lessons would be conducted. More number of hours was allotted to practical lessons because students could gain hands on experience with the tools and the methods that would be employed during the course process. Theory lessons were also as important as practical lessons. In theory classes discussions would be held, future plans could be discussed and many other things could be employed. Students attending these classes may suffer from learning disabilities. The onus is on lecturers or on the teaching staff. They should shoulder the responsibility of improving student's abilities and make them believe in themselves. In catering care should be taken about following the health standards. The students should be taught about the basic heath, safety and hygiene rules. The teaching staffs have to ensure that every student follows the safety standards prescribed by the health department. Negligence regarding health and standards should be treated severely. If violated counselling of students should be conducted. All the safety measures should be up to date and checks has to be done on safety equipment. Since kitchen is not a safe place first aid and emergency telephone numbers should be kept in an easily accessible place. In theory classes teachers should employ different methods of teaching so that students can grasp easily. There should a constant interaction between stude nt and teacher. This kind of interaction eases the tension in the classroom and student feels at home and shows signs of interest in the subject. The Q & A session tests the ability of a student. Through Q & A teacher comes to know whether a student has understood the lessons or still facing any problems with the subject. Teaching staff should encourage the students to involve in discussions. This kind of discussions could help in clarifying their doubts and improve the assessment skills. This formative assessment is very much important before doing any assessment on summation. Methods like quiz and solving puzzle would be helpful in making the students to understand the concepts very easy. Programmes like

The History of Gregorian Chant Research Paper Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
The History of Gregorian Chant - Research Paper Example Bewerunge indicates that the name Gregorian chant points to Gregory the Great (590-604), to whom an appealing steady custom ascribes a convinced final understanding of the Roman chant. Most recently, the president of the Brussels music school has tried to prove, that the collection of the Mass music belongs to the end of the seventh or the start of the eighth century with a considerable quantity of learning (1). The Gregorian chant was named after Pope St. Gregory, who was the bishop of Rome and was in power from 590 to 604 AD. According to Catholic custom, it is said that under divine encouragement, Pope St. Gregory composed at least some of the Gregorian chants. Pope St. Gregory, in due course, established a singing school. This was primarily because he wanted the chant to be sung as perfectly as possible. Choir singers and teachers of singing in the skill of chant were taught in this school. Those who were trained from this school were then sent into a variety of countries to teach the chant. Chant was established in the new countries, which transformed as well. This was how ultimately chant became known as Gregorian (Garno p20). Peopleââ¬â¢s ideas about Gregorian chant were summed up in a gracious myth for more than a thousand years. This myth connected the music source to the actions of Gregory the great. The Carolingians put this in pictures. They showed the Holy Spirit, in the appearance of a dove, communicating musical issue to Gregoryââ¬â¢s year and Gregory passing it on to writing engraves. At the early stages of antiphonies, Gregoryââ¬â¢s work was also illustrated in poems that appeared outstandingly. This concept took hold of Gregorian chant with its eventual background in transmissions that were auditory rather than notational in the mid twentieth century that (Levy p4). Sunol argues that the art of mixing sounds and regulating their extent is what is termed as music in general. Sound is therefore, before all things, the substance

Coca-Cola Essay Example for Free
Coca-Cola Essay Coke has been the leader in the soft drink industry for decades. Coke has a strong customer loyalty base, while appealing to new customers through effective marketing. In recent years, the soft drink industry has changed with consumers becoming more health conscious. With the consumer market changing, soft drink sales have dropped and the demand for healthy drinks are in demand. To be able to make up the difference of the drop in sales, Coca-Cola needed to come up with some innovative new products and marketing strategies that would appeal to a new market of the beverage industry. In the last decade, PepsiCo. has gained leverage on Coca-Cola, because Pepsi made beverages that appealed to the changing consumer market. In two thousand-four, Pepsi owned fifty-two point three percent of the market in China after Coke produced a plant there (SinoCast, 2004). Coca-Cola has faced struggles in the past decade due to the lack of effective marketing and new product development. The individuals that were making the decisions for Coca-Cola were focusing on their best seller Coke and Diet Coke, and discovered that two products were not enough to keep the corporation running. When using the PESTEL analysis, the first key component is to do an environmental scan (Finch, 2012). PESTEL is an acronym known as the six environmental factors which are the framework (Finch, 2012). The six environmental factors are political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal (Finch, 2012). The PESTEL analysis is based upon understanding forces and trends and can pertain to any given industry (Finch, 2012). Coca-Cola did not do any environmental scan, and solely relied upon the traditional beverages and marketing that Coca-Cola had always used. oke 2. PepsiCo not only began to distribute health conscious beverages, such as juices, teas, coffees, and water they also began distributing snack foods. PepsiCo has even implemented a relationship with schools which incorporates responsible advertising practices, like offering healthy foods and beverages. PepsiCo also became a member of the International Food Beverage Alliance, which has to be met by certain stand ards in food and beverage distribution. The proper execution of the PESTEL analysis is a tool that would give PepsiCo an advantage as it delves in market penetration, market development, and product development. The PESTEL analysis would confirm market trends, and internal and external factors, which would allow the organization to do more specific research and create the ability to make adjustments in order to reflect a gain in the industry. The PESTEL analysis is the answer as to how PepsiCo had the ability to act on a changing market and fully benefit from the changing market. A decade ago Coca-Cola began its struggle in the beverage industry, when reality hit Coca-Cola made adjustments, offered new products and adapted to the market. Five years from now, Coca-Cola has to remain competitive by changing with the market, and producing products that appeal to the current consumer interest. Not only will Coca-Cola have to be creative with products, marketing is also another challenge. Marketing has changed with technological advances, today marketing is more than a television commercial, or a billboard there are now various channels and strategies in hich to reach and appeal to consumers. Coca-Cola is known for sticking to traditional marketing and product, which has eventually put them behind their competitor. Technology is utilized in many different forms and will continue to increase as technology is an ever changing industry. Technology is a tool that should be utilized it can be cost effective and reach a new market segment. The weakness of the beverage industry is that consumers continue to become more health conscious, even down to the ingredients that make the food or beverage they are consuming. There have been studies done that lead researchers to believe that aspartame causes cancer. There are studies that lead researchers to believe that Splenda in large and prolonged quantities can also lead to cancer. These ingredients are commonly used in different types of beverages that are distributed by various companies. With the recent studies of various ingredients, the government controls food and beverage production which also means that everything has to be made public knowledge (on a label). The strengths are that of which Coca-Cola has the ability to produce beverages that appeal to the health conscious consumer. The investment into new products will allow Coca-Cola to remain competitive and appeal to new consumers as well. Along with new beverages, Coca-Cola should also explore new avenues in to growing markets and invest in them. With the financial power that Coca-Cola the investment to tap into new frontiers. There are many opportunities for growth given that marketing and product development are the focus of the future of the company. oke 4. The future of Coca-Cola relies upon the decision to continually evaluate the six major factors into success and future success of any business. Frequent environmental scanning is necessary to execute the analysis of how and what changes need to be made. With the constant adjustments to product development and marketing strategies in place to accompany the changing times, it enables the best utilizations of products and marketing.

My Philosophy of Education Essay -- Teachers Teaching School Essays
My Philosophy of Education Do you know your ABCââ¬â¢s, 123's, or how to read? If so, give thanks to the teachers you have had and Horace Mann for establishing what we now know as elementary schools, where the preceding is learned. Without my teachers, this paper would not be possible and it is a known fact that good teachers are few and far between. I hope to be an exceptional teacher that will not only influence the lives of my students but also be one that is willing to learn from my students. Times have changed and so has education. Some teachers just do the requirements set forth to them half-heartedly now and only teach because they have to pay their bills, perhaps they do not want to go back to school to learn a new trade. I, on the other hand, cannot wait to have my own classroom and be in charge of cultivating their young minds because teaching can be one of the most rewarding careers that one can choose. My goal is to not only know the subject area I will be teaching but also have a firm gra sp on pedagogy to the utmost. It is mind boggling to know that I will be doing the same thing Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle once done, teach others. In order to educate my students, they must first know that I respect and care for them and will do anything in my power to help them achieve. This is the career that I am choosing and I am determined to do my very best. Children these days need positive role models and someone that cares for them because school may be the only place they receive either. If they know that I am willing to help them and that I love them as people as well as my students, then they are probably going to be more apt to learn. Managing their behavior with an assertive discipline will be my objec... ... it will not hold back the way I plan to teach the necessary requirements. Getting assignments done quickly and moving on is not the most important thing; getting them done while having fun and fully understanding the material, is. Also, I know that money is not the most important thing in life. Teachers I know, for the most part, live a good life. My family thought I should go into the medical field because ââ¬Å"thatââ¬â¢s where the money isâ⬠they would tell me. I would reply, ââ¬Å"Yes, money is there, but my heart is not, it is in teaching.â⬠I believe Theodore Roosevelt said it correct when he said, ââ¬Å"Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.â⬠I believe that teaching the young children of the world is definitely worth doing, because I know I will enjoy every minute and appreciate the fact that I am able to be a teacher.

According to ( )the ratio of the number of workers that had to be replaced in a given time period to the average number of workers Employee turnover is the process of replacing one worker with another for any reason. A turnover rate is the percentage of employees that a company must replace within a given time period. When employees leave a company and have to be replaced, thatââ¬â¢s called turnover. Some employees will always retire, move away, go back to school, or leave the workforce. This level of turnover is not only unavoidable, it can be beneficial. It brings new people into the organization with new ideas and a fresh perspective. Employeesââ¬â¢ turnover is a well-recognized issue of critical importance to the organizations. Lack of employeesââ¬â¢ continuity involves high costs in the induction and training of new staff. Organizational productivity is also one of the challenges that arise as a consequence of turnover (Siong et al, 2006). Employeeââ¬â¢s turnover is a widely researched phenomenon. A huge amount of theoretical and empirical literature identified various factors/reasons responsible for employeesââ¬â¢ turnover. However, there is no standard reason why people leave organization (Ongori, 2007).

The Oppression Of Women Susan Glaspell s Trifles And...
The Oppression of Women in a Male Dominated Society The plays Susan Glaspellââ¬â¢s Trifles and Sophoclesââ¬â¢ Antigone, examine the contrast between the roles of women versus that of a man. The women in Trifles are viewed as second class citizens, who are expected to follow the beliefs and commands of the man, whereas, Antigone is a head strong and defiant woman, who didnââ¬â¢t mind challenging manââ¬â¢s authority. From the beginning of time, the view of women is that as inferior to men. In both of these plays, the women are expected to be seen, but not heard. In Trifles, the women are portrayed as housewives, responsible for bearing children, and keeping the house. Throughout the play, the attorney made several comments insinuating that Mrs. Wright wasnââ¬â¢t keeping up with her womanly duties. He stated ââ¬Å"here is a mess, dirty towels! Not much of a housekeeper would you say, ladiesâ⬠(Glaspell 1109-1110)? The men are viewed as head of the house and of the woman. The womenââ¬â¢s input and ideas are often overlooked and they have no say in the final decisions. Before her marriage, Mrs. Wright was described as a nice and pretty, but a bit shy and nervous. But that changed greatly after her wedding day. Her spirit was reduced to nothing. She spent her days focusing on her quilts, preserves, and caring for her canary. She didnââ¬â¢t receive any type of appreciation for her hard work. After the death of her beloved canary at the hands of her husband, she lost control of her emotions and killed him. Her
